I Designed 20 Apartments and Filled Them with Pine Furniture

Written by Sarah Shaw

Apartments are one of the popular form of accommodation in many countries. As such, it is not uncommon to find more and more apartments being built everyday, by investors who have realized the best way to make a living is by renting out their apartments. While some people will let out empty apartments, others will go an extra mile to furnish them making it even easier for the new occupants, because all they will need it their belongings. On the other hand, this means money for the owners of the apartment, hence the need to do an excellent job,in terms of getting the right pieces for furnishing the rooms. As a designer, I have been engaged in furnishing apartments for different clients on several occasions, but the most memorable job that I did was designing 20 apartments, that I also filled with pine furniture.

This is because, the apartments were small hence I had to find the best ideas possible, to ensure that the final look is magnificent and inviting. To begin with, I settled for bright colors for the walls because they tend to create depth making the rooms appear to be somewhat large. Moreover, bright colors are appealing hence they effectively take your attention from the issue of space. Secondly, for the floor I picked  flooring because they are very good in reflecting a neat style, that is quite luxurious being wood, you will hardly notice the limitation of the space in the apartment.

With both of these major points established, I introduced some pieces furniture that were also luxurious. To the dwelling area, I had a sofa, that was complimented by a nest of tables. These stood on an Chinese rug that served to give some colour contrast. In lieu of acquiring a TV cabinet that would definitely consume into the by now limited area, I used a TV and Video Unit which would also hold my music center this took up little room, and this allowed me to have a modest dining table.

For the bedrooms, I had a big wooden bed that was accompanied by two narrow bedside cabinets and bedside lamps. In addition I included custom wardrobes, and custom made furniture that were neatly finished to reflect the color scheme of the room, effectively promoting continuity. There was also a chest of drawers, to ensure that there is enough storage space, hence the room will always be neat. It is religious custom by many people who like to do their daily devotions, and some reading from the comfort of their bedroom, I also added a small study table that completed the room.

For that kitchen, several units have been fixed on the walls, to supply much more cupboard space this also created an excellent position to show off my prized china cups. I also integrated a tiny farmhouse table and some chairs, where you can have a quiet coffee on your own. At last The job was finished, the ultimate look was wonderful as many people today who rented the flats were  attracted by the distinctive style, and most importantly by the  pine products which were utilized to transform the residences.
